listening to: Vermont; Living Together
Friday.
Friday started out sorta glum, I was preparing myself for Alone time again, in this strange city. Sorta enjoying it but not really. I didn't know where the underground tunnel to Haight was, for instance. I ended up looking for my car all around the city, biking from 7th street to 22nd and3rd, to lost car lots by the ocean, cars with numbers sitting atop their heads, my ex car sitting off on its on with a few friends to keep him company. I looked for the title and registration in the glove compartment but nada. Grabbed a comcorder battery I left last time I was in the car recording a snake eating a mouse. I made it back to the city early so I stopped back home quick and then rode back to my therapy appointment. I had to reschedule to Friday cause i actually was working on Wednesday. i always wondered why they didnt spell Wednesday phonetically. Right as I was sitting down to therapize, ready to get sad since its the only place around I can and not have people ask why, 'gosh im sorry i dont even know', I got a phone call. then wei called in the middle of the therapization. This particular session was really positive, we talked a lot about anger, stupid vs. not knowing, more about how he works, and my plead : What Do I Do? (like that Shaggs song.) I told him I wanted some recommendations on how to deal with these certain things that keep popping up , to which he said I already had the answers. Im getting used to the therapeutic vagueness. After that I rode home actually smiling a little, which is somethin new.
I talked to Anne later on and we met up shortly after 5 in the pm by her street. I stopped at the red light looked around and there she was about 5 o clock (behind me). We rode to the end of the street where Critical Mass was convening but caught the empty breeze of the event and split after smoking some pot underneath my jacket. a right or left at the embarcadero ? lets leave it up , passed by yello and orange street cars reflecting our own bikes. we biked all the way down to the end of the line, past tourists, past bars, past piers, past small beaches, random stadium seating, over piers, past sail boats, past a guy who called out to me RocknRoll!, up hills through a park, down hills, towards the golden gate bridge, headphones on, Anne can certainly bikefast as I found myself trying just a little harder than I would alone, through a beach , over sand, past where we took my British friend to hang out on the beach a few years ago. I listened to side b of my mixtape a bunch, which included 764-hero, mates of state, the black lips, the royal trux. we ended up at the foot of the golden gate bridge and decided to ride across. so we did. we rode on the pedestrian side first and rode around groups of people coming up with ways to ride around them as politely as possible, it was a little windy but mostly real nice, the sun getting itself ready to set. we made it to the other side and sat on a wall overlooking the city we had just left. where do we go from here? back the way we came? ok. and so we got on our bikes and did just that. on the way back we stopped by this ocean sound exhibit type thing where the waves crash into these pipes spurring vibrations from god knows where and creating sound if you listen just right at the right angle at the right synchronization of the planets etc. needless to say it was fun and next time i will bring a sharpee. onward toward home , past kiters, bikers, soccerplayers, boaters, round the turn, up the hill back through the park, down another hill, past the pier where i recorded a sailboat. where do we eat? i had been thinking of a chocolate milkshake so i suggested mel's diner but it's expensive and i swiftly let go. there was this other diner we stopped at which was posh, swank and a leetle bit expensive. so we decided another diner on on the other side of market and by the time we got there i was starving! it looked closed but of course the seas part and the lady inside unklocked the door her first two customers. chicken sandwich and chocolate shake for me, a grilled cheese and some drink a screw driver, for Anne. The lady after sternly taking our orders went about eating an orange on a stick, then switching it for an apple with chocolate sauce. yumm. we chose some songs from the jukebox but i cant remember if they played them or not. oh donna, was one of them. after a nice meal we rode back down valencia back home back eventually to sleep. i went back home took a vicodin, smoked some pot and watched love and death with steve. i got a call and agreed how much fun it was.
